Terms and Conditions

Online store

We are a Finnish online store selling products to private individuals in Finland and worldwide. The products are sold by Vermét Design Oy (3144890-8), later referred to as “Vermét”. We reserve the right to conduct any changes to pricing and shipping costs.

Prices within the EU are subject to and include a Value-Added Tax (VAT) of 24 %. Please note that outside EU prices do not include any taxes or customs duties to which your order may be subject to.

The products are ordered primarily from www.vermetdesign.com via the shopping cart. All purchases are confirmed via email, where we will notify the purchase price, shipping costs and list the products purchased. Customers will be subject to agree to all up-to-date terms and conditions that may apply to each purchase and product shipping.

Pre-order campaigns

You acknowledge that certain products are provided through campaigns. Campaign items are purchased BEFORE PRODUCTION. Campaign listings are NOT ready to ship. The item will be manufactured only if a sufficient number has been ordered in a time frame set out by Vermét. In such a case, if a sufficient number is not reached, the item will not be manufactured. You may cancel your order at any time until the end of the campaign by sending us an email at help@vermetdesign.com.

Each campaign has its own closing date. The estimated shipping time is located in the description of each campaign item. Please note each campaign ending date and estimated shipping date before purchasing. Special Art Series campaigns or custom orders may take longer to ship. Estimated production time on all campaigns is informed on the product page. The production time begins from the closing date of the campaign listing and is SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. Please DO NOT contact us on the status of your campaign order before the estimated production time listed above. These emails will not be answered until the estimated production time ends. You will receive tracking information via email once your campaign-order items have shipped. 

DO NOT place a campaign order if you need an item by a designated date; we cannot guarantee the item will arrive by your specified date. 

Vermét will make every effort to deliver your order within the estimated timescale. However, delays are occasionally inevitable due to unforeseen factors or events outside their control, for example, material or production shortages, travel or transportation disruption, import delays, software or technical failures or higher than anticipated demand.

The customer agrees to the terms and conditions when placing an order.

Ordering a Pre-order campaign item

These are the terms that apply when you’re backing a Pre-order campaign: The products are ordered from www.vermetdesign.com via the shopping cart.

When buying products from a Pre-sale campaign, you commit to purchasing them and paying them in advance. You will provide your payment information when you back a Pre-order campaign item, but you won’t be charged at the time of order.

Your payment will only be collected if, at the time of the project’s funding deadline, the project has reached its fundraising goal. The exact amount you ordered per item is the amount Vermét will collect. If the campaign hasn’t reached its fundraising goal, that item is cancelled and you won’t be charged for that item.

In some cases, we’ll reserve the charge on your card. Vermét and its payment partners may authorize or reserve a charge on your credit card (or whatever payment method you use) for any amount up to the total order amount at any time between the order and the collection of funds.

All orders are confirmed by email and include the total price of the order, shipping costs, and products ordered. A correct email address should be provided when ordering to receive an order confirmation.

Vermét Design reserves the right to cancel an item from an order placed by the customer if a sufficient number of backers is not reached, and there for the item will not be manufactured. In such a case, the customer will be sent a revised order confirmation. If the campaigns you have backed fail, you won’t be charged, no funds will be collected, and no money will change hands.

By backing a campaign by Vermét, you agree to be bound by this entire Agreement, including the following terms:

  • The customer agrees to provide their payment information at the time they pledge to a campaign. The payment will be collected when the funding goal is achieved. (minimum number of people funding product)
  • The customer will consent to Vermét and its payments partners authorizing or reserving a charge on their payment card or another payment method for the total amount agreed upon.
  • The customer agrees to have sufficient funds or credit available to ensure that the amount will be collectable.
  • The Estimated Delivery Date listed on each reward is not a promise to fulfil by that date but merely estimates when Vermét hopes to complete the order.
  • Vermét agrees to make a good faith attempt to fulfil each reward by its Estimated Delivery Date.
  • Vermét does not guarantee that a campaign will succeed.
  • Vermét reserves the right to reject, cancel, interrupt, remove, or suspend a campaign at any time and for any reason. Vermét is not liable for any damages as a result of any of those actions. 

Ordering an in-stock item

The products are ordered primarily from www.vermetdesign.com via the shopping cart.

Products and their shipment fees are paid at the time of the order.

For all orders placed at www.vermetdesign.com, Vermét Design will send an order confirmation email and include the total price of the order, shipping costs and products ordered. A correct email address should be provided when ordering to receive an order confirmation.

Vermét Design reserves the right to cancel an order placed by the customer if a significant mistake is made in the product’s pricing. An error like this would be a substantial difference between the standard price or the market price of the product, and an average customer could understand that there is a mistake in the price. An example of this would be, for example, if the price of an item is 0,00 EUR.

The customer agrees to the terms and conditions when placing an order.

Payment methods

For Pre-order campaigns, we will validate the customer’s credit card number when placing the order, but the products and applicable shipping fees will be paid when the item reaches its funding goal. If a specific campaign does not reach its goal before the deadline, the campaign will be cancelled, and the customer will not be charged for that item.

The customer may pay for an order by using a credit card. Stripe Payments Europe Limited, registered in Ireland, serves as the payment service provider and accepts major credit cards like Visa, Mastercard and American Express from customers in every country.

When using Stripe payment methods, the customer also agrees to the Stripe Checkout User Terms of Service, Finland: (www.stripe.com/fi/checkout/terms) and the Stripe Privacy Policy, Finland: (www.stripe.com/fi/privacy).

Vermét Design Oy does not receive or store any payment information. All transactions are handled directly by Stripe, our payment service provider. Customer credit card details are held securely by Stripe.

Shipping and delivery

Delivery time

The products are sent in 3-5 business days when products are in stock. Shipping delays, weekends and holidays may affect delivery time.

The home delivery option in Finland delivers the parcel directly to your home. If it cannot be delivered (if no one is there to receive the parcel), the package will be delivered to the nearest pick-up point. 

Estimated shipping times are to be used as a guide only and commence from the date of dispatch. Delivery times depend on the country to which goods are shipped and the choice of freight method. Vermét Design Oy is not responsible for any delays caused by destination customs clearance processes.

Shipping destinations and shipping fees 

Shipping costs include the cost of shipping & packaging. The shipping charges depend on the order’s weight and volume and the chosen delivery method.

We reserve the right to change shipping methods during campaigns. In campaigns with free shipping, we reserve the right to select the most inexpensive method. 

The shipping charges are based on the current postal rates.

We’d also like to note that when customs clearance procedures are required, it can increase the time that you’ll receive your purchases beyond our original delivery estimates on our site.

If you are shopping from the United Kingdom & other countries outside the European Union fiscal area: customs and import charges are not included in the price, and Vermét Design Oy is not responsible for possible customs expenses or other costs that may occur. 

Delivery charges

Prices include VAT when ordering from countries inside the EU. Orders to countries outside the EU may be subject to VAT, import duties and/or taxes, which are levied once your package reaches your country. 

We do not collect VAT, duties and/or taxes on orders to countries outside the EU, and we cannot predict what your particular charges may be. If any such additional charges occur, they must be rendered by the customer in order for the package to clear customs. Please contact your local authorities for more information.

Shipment tracking

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking code for your package. You can check the shipping status of your parcel.

Damaged goods/missing items 

Should you not receive your parcel, if an item was damaged in transport, or if the item ordered is faulty, contact us immediately by email at help@vermetdesign.com. If the package was damaged in transportation, a claim must also be made with the shipping company.

Notifying faulty items must be made within 14 business days of receiving your order.

The economic responsibility is yours if products are damaged or missing during the return transport.

Wrong and/or duplicate order(s)

If a situation occurs where the customer receives a wrong and/or duplicate order(s), Vermét Design Oy reserves its right to get back all products in their original condition. The customer has to return it to Vermét Design Oy within 14 days of delivery with no exceptions. Vermét Design Oy will compensate for the cost of shipping.

Return and exchange policy

Returns

If the products do not meet your expectations or you have any comments about the products or delivery, please contact us by email at help@vermetdesign.com.

All our products have a 30-day return policy starting from the date of receiving the item in question, except for fabrics already cut out to specific measurements. Returned items must be in original condition, i.e. unworn and resellable. Do return items in their original packaging.

The cost of shipping is not factored into our product prices. We intentionally keep our margins low to give customers the best price possible. This is why return costs will be paid by the customer themself.

When returning a delivered order, please contact us beforehand by email: help@vermetdesign.com. 

When contacting us or returning a delivered order, be sure to include your order number and contact information.

In case the return shipment is lost during transportation, keep the receipt of the return shipment until you have received the refund. If a parcel is lost during transport and the customer cannot deliver proof of the shipment, Vermét Design Oy is not obligated to make a refund of the items that have not been returned. 

Exchange

Due to the nature of our campaign-based business model, we do not hold stock for Pre-ordered items. Therefore we do not offer a direct exchange service for Pre-sale items. If you wish to exchange an item(s) purchased from the in-stock items, we ask you to contact help@vermetdesign for further support before returning the item.

Faulty goods

Vermét Design oy truly cares about the impeccable quality of its products. However, if a mistake has occurred and you acknowledge a production error, the goods can be returned against a valid receipt and/or order confirmation. Any complaints must be made within 14 days of receipt of the order to help@vermetdesign.

Any complaints about fabrics cut to size must be made within 7 days of receipt of the order to help@vermetdesign. Complaints will only be accepted for unused/uncut fabrics.

For faulty items, Vermét will make a full refund to you, including return shipping, as soon as possible. Goods are faulty if they are received damaged or where a manufacturing fault occurs. Items that are damaged as a result of normal wear and tear are not considered to be faulty. Where possible, Vermét will offer to repair faulty items. If it cannot be repaired or the same product is not available for re-order, you are entitled to a full refund, including the cost of shipping and return.

Uncollected Packages

An uncollected package is not considered to be a return. It is the customer’s obligation to make sure to pick up the package on time so that it is not returned to us. 

Vermét will not pay shipping for uncollected packages. If a parcel is not picked up from the pick-up point, the parcel will be returned to us. A refund of the order will be made and will be charged with the cost of return freight and administrative fees. If customs and/or other additional costs arise, these will be deducted from the credit invoice as well. 

Returned parcels will not be re-shipped.

Other

We reserve the right to change our terms and conditions. Customers should familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions before placing an order. 

Vermét Design Oy handles all customer information confidentially and does not disclose customer information to unnecessary third parties. If customer information is forwarded to a third party, it is according to the terms above, for example, to the payment providers.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Finnish law.

Force Majeure:

Vermét Design Oy shall not be liable to the customer for not fulfilling the Terms due to causes which are beyond the control of Vermét Design Oy (such as war, acts of government, strikes, natural disasters or other causes of a similar nature) for the duration of such events. In these cases, the customer shall not have a right to compensation from Vermét Design Oy for breach of contract.
